The Enterprise Finance Guarantee (EFG) is a government guarantee to participating lenders. It enables them to make loans to viable SMEs which would otherwise be declined due to the borrower having inadequate security.

UK Innovation Investment Fund (UKIIF)
The UKIIF participates in funds which invest in technology-based businesses with high growth potential. It focuses on investing in growing small businesses, startups and spin outs, in digital and life sciences, clean technology and advanced manufacturing.
Capital for Enterprise has developed a fund on behalf of the Office of the Third Sector to invest in social enterprises.
Regional Venture Capital Funds
Regional Venture Capital Funds (RVCFs) are an England-wide programme which provided risk capital finance in small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) which would demonstrate growth potential. These funds are now closed for new investments.
Early Growth Funds encourage risk funding for start-ups and growth firms from which all small businesses in the early stages of growth can benefit.
